Schematic

The schematic shows how the wave energy converter system works. As waves arrive, the floating panels rise compressing double-acting hydraulic cylinders. The compressed hydraulic fluid flows through connecting pipes to accumulators located on the pier deck. These accumulators store energy and maintain steady pressure to rotate a hydraulic motor, which then drives the electrical generator to produce power. As waves recede, the panels descend and the system continues the energy conversion cycle.
